What Makes a Champion?

Aidan#2

ˈCHampēən/

*a person who has defeated or surpassed all rivals in a competition, esp. in sports

So…that is the definition of a Champion.

I think there is much more that can be said about someone or a team being considered a CHAMPION in their field. Can you?

What does being a Champion mean to you??

What does it take to be a champion? Desire, dedication, determination, concentration and the will to win.

I feel a real Champion has to be disciplined. When a practice or game gets tough, YOU HAVE TO BE TOUGHER.

A Champion has a sheer passion for their sport. No matter what the outcome…a Champion has focus %100 of the time.

A Champion does not become ARROGANT or places themselves ahead of their teammates.

    Hi Mya,
The runner on the left is Mr. Tooker’s son!!
I am sure he trains over 50 miles a week. THAT IS A LOT OF RUNNING!! He burns so many calories that he does look in great shape. He is one of the best runner’s in New York State 🙂 (and the country!)

we think a champion means you did the best you can do and you won. A champion is someone who is proud in there self and how they did.If you are a champion you are someone who loves doing something and is loving what sport or activity they are doing. You don’t have to be a champion you just have to be proud of your self. And that’s all that matter’s. Just be your self and try your best and that’s all that matter’s to you.

    Blake,
I’m not sure what he’ll be when he grows up, but I have a feeling that once he figures it out, he’ll be successful. That’s one thing that makes him a champion – he decides what he wants, and he expects himself to be the best. He works hard even when no one is watching, and even if he has had a set back. Losing just makes him work harder. I’m very proud.

Jules….I agree. I also think a champion is doing extra practices, getting in more work outs, even when it is just them. I true champion has determination. You cannot teach someone to be determined. It comes from within 🙂

I think Tim Tebow is a true Champion. He is so focused on how he plays, dedicates a tremendous amount of his effort to ANY team he is playing for. AND now, without a team to play for…he has never bad mouthed or disrespected another team or their coach. Classy, respectful, a CHAMPION.
Sports reveal character, and Tim Tebow has REAL character. What a great role model for all of us!
