Can You Find Me?

BLUEBERRIES are in season! Time to pick!

My favorite fruit would have to be blueberries.  Here is why 🙂

  • Blueberries are one of the easiest fruit to prepare and serve. There’s no peeling, pitting, coring or cutting.
  • Blueberries have more of the antioxidant power you need to fight aging, cancer and heart disease.
  • Blueberries contain no cholesterol or fat and are also low in calories.
  • THEY SIMPLY TASTE GREAT!!!!!

(BTW..it takes about 4 cups  of blueberries to make a blueberry pie)

Check out Eagles View Farm in Galway  518-882-9199

You better get there quick..I might have just picked them all 🙂

What fresh fruit do you like to pick?

Friendships In Sports

This picture is priceless!

  • Two athletes who share their love of the game
  • Playing for two different teams
  • Have a strong friendship on and off the field

It is a WINNING combination!

Sports gives you a common ground with other athletes and fosters a feeling of teamwork,

making it easier to become friends.

DO YOU LIKE PLAYING SPORTS AS A WAY TO MAKE FRIENDS?

DO YOU HAVE FRIENDS THAT PLAY FOR OTHER TEAMS OR SCHOOLS?

May is National Fitness Month

Pashley Students…The Sneaker Wall is Back!!

To help celebrate National Fitness Month, we are encouraging exercise outside PE time.

For every 30 minutes you exercise (the possibilities are endless :-))

You will get a blank paper sneaker to color and decorate.  Bring them back to school so we can proudly display them on the gym walls!

What type of exercise will you be doing to earn your “sneaker”?

Snack ATTACK at Pashley

Yesterday we had our first SNACK ATTACK!

It was awesome!

  • Nutritionist, Mrs. Hyde spoke to our students about healthy snacks (there sure is a lot of sugar in our everyday food!)
  • students traveled from center to center preparing a nutritious snack 🙂   YUM
  • by the end of the session, each student had a recipe card for everything they prepared
  • “thumbs up or thumbs down” let us know what their favorites were

Bottom line….PASHLEY students are healthy on the inside and out!

A BIG shout out to the Wellness Committee and the awesome parent helpers!!!

What did you enjoy most from the Snack Attack?

Giving Back with HOPE

The Yankees Hope Week 2010

This five-day charity event was organized by the team to bring goodwill to the community.  On one of the days,  “Beautiful People” a group that enables special needs children to play sports, got playtime with the Bronx Bombers.  That must have been pretty special for the Yankees as well as the children.

No wonder they are my favorite team, on and off the field!!

Do you volunteer to help others?

Britt Visits Pashley

Today our school celebrated National Girls and Women in Sport Day.
We had an amazing presentation by
All American Field Hockey Player…Elise Britt!
She talked about all the sports she’s played, injuries shes had 🙂 and offered advice for our 5th graders. WOW the hour flew by! Our Pashley students had great questions for her too. Can you believe she is a Red Sox fan over my Yankees!!!!

We all had such a wonderful experience. Girls and Women do play sports and they play them WELL.
BRAVO BRITT!!
Hope you can come back to visit again!

5th Graders…What was something she said today, that made an impact on you??
